More humptastic news from them ABQs

It would seem we touched a nerve... in a good way. After almost 2 months we found another story about our show in ABQ. A full length article about the Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound screening in Albuquerque, this time from the University of New Mexico's student paper, the Daily Lobo.Link

Here is a nice section of the article:

UNM senior Sean Alkire, who works at the UNM Outdoor Bike Shop, attended Pornotopia on Sunday and said the show was a healthy way for the Albuquerque community to explore sex.

“I thought it was very uplifting, if you know what I mean,” Alkire said. “I honestly didn’t know what to expect either. I didn’t know if we were going to be watching cartoons, bike on bike, I had no idea. Some of the hardcore stuff was a surprise, but a pleasant one.”

Wow, has that paper really been around since 1895? Bajesus, that is a long time. Thanks for the good press Mr Hunter, we hope you will explore the cyclical nature of getting it on to get off bikes again soon.Link

When you steal from bike porn, you steal from the future

Fuck our fans! They keep stealing our cool shit! Snached from the Guild Cinema walls before the movie was even over...

Some annoyingly overexcited bikesexuals in Ogden, Boulder and now ABQ has thieved our best art! We had only a few of these posters. Now we have none. Thus at all the upcoming shows in Flagstaff and Vegas and Reno and Ashland - no one is gonna see our fucking amazing poster art for the next years program.

It hurts!

We would love to have our posters returned. We want to see them again; to at least know they are being loved.

[saddness envelops]

Raising the Flagstaff

Coming out of the steamy bowl that is ABQ following Pornotopia, our team has reached the southeastern edge of the Chain Whip Tour universe. From now on it is nothing but traveling north by northwest.

1st stop on our voyage home is the rather conservative town of Flagstaff, AZ. Where no amount of e-mail harassment produced more than a shriek and/or an attempt at a pleasant "no we really don't want you or anyone else to fuck our bikes, thank you" deferral letter. Until we met the folks at the PhotoBarn. They have been great pimpin' the goods on our behalf and making us feel welcome before we even got to the show!

So much so that they are requesting a 2nd show this Wednesday night, which is pretty encouraging of a very porn-ready community considering this show was only set up a week ago.

Sunday Porny Sunday

Having just driven for most of the day along route 666, we were able to get into ABQ with just enough time to catch some BDSM. Our team has 5 VIP passes to all the Pornotopia shows.

So far all the videos have had plenty of porn, however we have noticed that although the porn is very real, they seem to sacrifice some character development. Go figure. Porn without personal interest or backstory is a challenge, but some of the movies showed so much real passion we could almost create a bit of a story out of the actors' behaviors.

Tonight we rally to the "Vintage and Vaudeville - Retro Skin flicks and Sexy Live Acts, Fresh Performances;" we'll see how the locals' performances stack up against our own live show.

More troubling is that the city is still working so hard to keep the show from happening. Due to a strange zoning law, they (and all movie theaters showing R-rated films) are breaking the law all the time. The text on the books says that there can be no female nipple, no butcrack, no genitalia of any sort. Perhaps only Boise was more restrictive. The city said they didn't want any live displays of nudity, but that films showing all matter of sex are okay, for now. The city even bought a handful of passes to check and make sure there was not anything displaying, saying that if there was so much as a wardrobe malfunction they would shut the entire festival down.

Big talk for a city that is actively attempting to deny constitutional rights to the people of Albuquerque. This will be the 1st show where we are not allowed to get as naked as we want!

Still we are planning on having it rock the people. We have already met lots of nice bikers. Including some folks from the "Bike Co-op" and "Two Wheel Drive." We didn't see anyone from Fixed and Free but we are hoping that between all the bike lanes and the folks behind cranks505.com that we can get in some sort of group ride tomorrow!

durango we hardly knew ye

So with a great deal of sadness, we have accepted that we won't be able to screen BikePorn3 in Durango.

This will be a devastating blow, as we reserved a Saturday for those crazy mofos who hosted what we heard was the greatest sswc for all time.

But as it turns out we are busting our balls and ovaries to make it to Pornotopia in Albuquerque.

Our program of sexy cycling will be shown to the ravenous porn people of Albuquerque Sunday November 8th at 5:30pm.

We hope to be able to unveil our new line of floggers via the folks at Kink Tank in Denver.

Bring it!

Verbal encouragement

One of our top priorities in the coming year is some sort of bikeporn encouragement meter broken down per location. Near the top are perennial debauchee encouragers New Orleans, New York, Toronto, and Atlanta as well as the little bike porn capitol of the rockies, Salt Lake. Plus who could ignore Asheville NC with its world record tall bike erection. All are looking to host bike porn and a pornometer would help us make our tough choices about where to go. But where as many a city promises booze, cookies, and spandex the town of Albuquerque might be in the lead after we received this lovely prose:

Wanna ride bikes?

The frame

Firm but compliant beneath me

Just the right size

Made to fit only me

The cadence

Steady and long

Tension and release

Until the motion is a smooth revolution of muscle

The chain

Linking the various pieces into a fluid continuum

The wheel

Revolving

Hurtling me forward

To places I hadn’t dared to imagine

The spokes constant tease of

Tension and Release

The tires

The scalpel edge

Tearing me forward into new frontiers

My bike and me

Transporting each other passed the bounds of imagination

Until all muscles firing in this game of

Tension and release, tension and release

Pounding hard into unexplored worlds

Tension and release

Ecstasy

Huzza bike porn citizens of "The Que!" They certainly did show us some bike love when we visited there in November of 2008.

Warm up those temptation engines! Tell us when where and why bike porn should be played!

REmembering ABQ

Albuquerque (or ABQ for those in a rush) is a sort of liberal city in a fairly conservative state. The comparative differences between New Mexico and Arizona is one of the favorite topics for residents in both states.

Biking around we didn't find much excitement... or even traffic. It was after 7pm and the city doesn't have much of a nightlife, which is to say it is pretty great to ride around without traffic. This def not the case in in the afternoon, when simultaneously every car in the city appears out of every hole and nook to claim their personal space on the road.

We were able to find an empty park with a caged basketball court that we deemed hardcourt bike polo worthy... being able to put each other into the fence almost made us feel at home. If ever you find yourself at the Agency and suddenly you feel the need to play polo here are some directions.

We played a festive round of "PSI Thigh" or "Pinch a Sexy Inch" where a team of judges squeezed bikers most impressive muscles. A little live interaction is great to get the crowd into the spirit. The show went perfect, The Agency did a great job making sure it looked and sounded great.

The show was well promoted by Basement Films with lots of well groomed cyclists and bike punks filling the venue. Basement Films is an excellent, profitless organization that has an impressive library of old film reels. After our screening they took time to show us some their favorites. "Double Talk" a racy 1975 short starring Robert Picardo (the Doctor from Star Trek Voyager) shows us a beavercleaver-style family meeting their daughter's young suitor.

After watching a few reels we were feeling the need to do some reeling of our own and staked out in search of stumble juice. Somehow the Twinks were not able to get into the bar thus there was only a solo pornographer alone with a gaggle of tossed Obama supporters. We swapped stories for a min while they ogled the polo mallet.

Miraculously they were convinced to step outside where the twinks sprang into action, talking about bike crap and generally ignoring the democratically belligerent ladies who were now trying to get us to join them on a ride.

"We have whiskey and weed and you can crash on the floor"

Ah, well, if that is what is required of us, so be it. We biked on, barely able to keep pace with the two women on cruisers. Eventually we caught up to them and then we were off road, dodging bushes like we were gay cabana boys at a cougar convention. The girls decided they would take this opportunity to get wet and we were in no position to offer suggestions. We did try to explain how cold riding home will be if they didn't remove their clothes, but sometimes explaining is not enough. As it turns out the Rio Grande is not all that warm in late October at 2am. However it is muddy so we just barely made ourselves compliant with their requests to "Join us!" by wadding shin high. After the girls fell in and were soaked a few times we headed off again, now turning North along the river and a few parks.

Much whiskey and many blunts were consumed. Actually this night may have consisted of the highest quality of smoke and drink for the entire trip. A never ending dance party commenced but in lieu of being oversexual the girls were committed to being coy and the boys were committed to being lazy. This kind of combination normally ends with regret on someone's behalf, but at some point various members were dragged onto a bed from where they had collapsed on the floor. Sounds of sleeping were not heard.

our viewers had this to say:

"Had a great time at the show, and got to see a few fixers in various states of undress. Well worth the admission price!"

ABQ, you are the greatest place we know of in the curious state of New Mexico.

thanks to Detroit Import, Target Salad, Chantal Foster, and Kittroid,

So it may not be the hardcourt we are used to, but it is still a gnar-gnar-in-your-face way to spend the afternoon beating up your friends w/ sticks.
