Clarkson performs controversial song

Clarkson claims songwriter/producer Ryan Tedder sent her the ballad Already Gone without telling her he'd already offered it to Beyonce.
Sony Music executives ignored Clarkson's pleas not to release the track because it sounded too much like Beyonce's Halo - prompting her to publicly criticise Tedder and her bosses at the label.
But the Since U Been Gone singer has consented to promote the tune, which she performed at a free concert on US TV show Good Morning America, drawing thousands of fans to New York City's Central Park.
The singer explained earlier this week, "In the end, they're releasing it without my consent. It sucks, but it's one of those things I have no control over. I already made my album. At this point, the record company can do whatever they want with it. It's kind of a s**tty situation, but... you know, you learn."

Kelly Clarkson Was Bulimic
Posted by mennie on 8:27 AM
For six months, Clarkson was bulimic, until a friend discovered her problem. "One of my guy friends caught on to it, and I just felt so ashamed and embarassed," she tells the mag. "I literally went cold turkey and snapped out of it."
Since her bout with bulimia in high school, Clarkson has worked hard to foster a positive body image, for herself and others. "I've got a butt, I'm Greek- I can't help that. And I think it's good for people to see normal."

Kelly Clarkson's New CD Hits Internet Early
Posted by mennie on 3:21 AM
I downloaded it quickly last Friday, and have been listening to it ever since — not necessarily because it's so good, but to evaluate its inherent oddness.
"My December," you see, as has been discussed now in this column and other places, is not what you'd expect from the winner of "American Idol."
That can be a good thing and a bad thing. We all applaud ambitious moves, and Clarkson certainly wants to spread her wings. Her famous quote now is that the songs are by her and about her. She says something to the effect of, "Pardon me if my life bores you."
Clarkson, however, is not a very experienced lyricist. So the pain she is trying to convey on "My December" is often not very effectively rendered. Unlike confessional songwriters like Carly Simon or even Alanis Morissette, Clarkson doesn't have a grasp of metaphor. She is more of an in-your-face songwriter. She also doesn't know when to stop beating a dead horse.
